Where can I buy a bus pass?

The Edmonton Service Centre in Edmonton Tower and all City-operated recreational facilities remain closed for transit pass sales, so transit passes and tickets cannot be purchased at these locations. Customers can purchase their regular tickets and passes at the ETS Online Store and ETS Sales Outlets.

.

Can I buy tickets at LRT Stations?

Yes, family/day passes and single-use tickets can be purchased at LRT ticket vending machines at LRT stations. Although the machines are cleaned regularly, it is recommended that you clean your hands before and after you use them to help prevent the spread of infection in our community.

Can I still use tickets or cash?

Yes, tickets and cash are accepted, however, monthly or family/day passes are encouraged because this minimizes contact and increases physical distancing. Paper transfers will be issued as proof of payment when paying with cash or tickets.

How is ETS safely handling transfer distribution?

The operator shields can stay up and transfers can be given. ETS is working on a hazard assessment and procedures for transfers.

Bus Proof-of-Payment Zones
On buses, for customers paying with cash or tickets, they will need to take a transfer from the operator (even if they don’t need a transfer) to show proof of payment, in the event they are asked by a Transit Peace Officer or a member of Edmonton Police Service (EPS).

ETS Online Store Closed for Maintenance
The ETS online store will be temporarily closed from Monday, June 24 until Wednesday, June 26 for maintenance. All ETS fare products will remain available at local retailers during this time, including Safeway, Sobeys, 7-Eleven, Shoppers Drug Mart and others, or at the Edmonton Service Centre located in Edmonton Tower.

Fare Programs

ETS has many programs that provide reduced fare for groups of Edmontonians.

Ride Transit - The Ride Transit Program offers a monthly transit pass to eligible low-income Edmontonians at a subsidized rate of $34 or $48.50 per month (effective starting with April 2021 passes, prices will be adjusted to $35 or $50, depending on income).

PATH - Providing Accessible Transit Here (PATH) provides free monthly transit passes to individuals who are homeless or are at high risk of homelessness.

Senior Annual Pass - Residents of Edmonton, 65+ and older qualify for an Annual Pass.

U-Pass - U-Pass provides eligible students at participating institutions unlimited travel on ETS and participating regional providers.  Note: U-Pass is currently suspended due to COVID-19.

Edmonton International Airport (Route 747) - ETS’ direct service to the airport.

Attendants Ride Free - On regular ETS, any attendant with a fare paying DATS registrant can travel free. A DATS registrant must show their DATS registrant card for the attendant to travel free. On DATS, a designated mandatory attendant travels free while accompanying a fare paying DATS registrant. Children, aged twelve years and younger, of a registered user ride free of charge.

All ETS customers must pay a cash fare or be in possession of a valid transfer, ticket or pass as proof of payment. On buses, if paying with cash or tickets, you will need to take a transfer from the operator (even if you don’t need a transfer) to show proof of payment, in the event you are asked by a Transit Peace Officer or a member of Edmonton Police Service (EPS). Failure to do so can result in a fine of $250.
