The City of Edmonton owns and operates three 18-hole golf courses and a driving range, each located on the banks of the North Saskatchewan River in Edmonton's beautiful river valley.

Safety Measures

Our first priority is the health and safety of our staff and golfers. We have added precautionary measures to ensure everyone stays safe on our courses. Safety will rely on the full cooperation of golfers. Measures include: 

  • Physical distancing at all times; at least 2 metres from others
  • Reducing the number of touch points and frequent cleaning of remaining touch points
  • Enhanced cleaning, disinfecting and sanitizing procedures
  • On site sanitization stations
  • Only 1 cart per person unless you have proof of living in the same household

What You Should Know

  • Tee times must be booked and paid for in advance. Please call 311 to book junior golf.
  • A $10 administration fee per person will be charged on all cancellations within 24 hours of the tee time.
  • Locker rooms will be closed.

Directives for Golfers

If you have COVID-19 symptoms or have travelled in the past 14 days, please do not come to our golf courses.

  • No drop-in golfers will be allowed. Please book your tee time online at MoveLearnPlay.edmonton.ca or call 311.

  • Stay in your vehicle until 15 minutes prior to your tee time unless dining or utilizing the driving range

  • Respect physical distancing of 3 meters at all times

  • Enjoy Greenhouse restaurant before or after your round

Which golf courses does the City of Edmonton operate?

The City operates Victoria, Riverside, and Rundle Park Golf Courses.

When will the golf courses be opening?

Victoria Golf Course, Riverside Golf Course and Rundle will open for bookings and public bookings mid April. We have adjusted our processes to ensure we are keeping the health and safety of our staff and golfers our first priority.  

How can I book a tee time?

We are introducing a new reservation system this year. You can book your tee times and pay online at MoveLearnPlay.edmonton.ca. You will need to create an account and then follow the prompts. Additionally, tee times can still be booked through calling 311.

What if I have a coupon or a pass?

If you have a coupon or pass and want to book a tee time please call 311.

Can I drop in and walk on the course?

Due to our Covid mitigation measures, golfers without a pre-scheduled tee time are not permitted. You must arrange a reservation prior to arriving at the course via online booking or by calling 311.

Is the driving range open?

The Victoria Driving Range is open. Hours are variable throughout the summer and stalls are available on a first-come, first-served basis. 

Can I cancel my tee time?

Yes. Cancellations will be granted and refunds issued.

Please note: Reservations that are not cancelled within 24 hours of the booked tee time will have a $10 administration fee charged.

Are the Pro Shops open?

The pro shops at Victoria, Riverside and Rundle Golf Course will open in conjunction with course opening dates. Wearing a mask or face covering is mandatory in all indoor public places. For more information, please visit edmonton.ca/COVID19.

Is there food and beverage service?

The Greenhouse Restaurant is open at Victoria Golf Course year round.  The Greenhouse restaurant at Riverside and Rundle Golf Courses will open at the start of the golf season.

Note: please do not bring your own food or beverages on site. Individual water bottles are allowed.

Are the washrooms available?

Washrooms are accessible at all of our golf course facilities. Portable washrooms on the golf courses will be available.

Will league play be allowed?

League play will be permitted.

Will the golf courses host lessons or events?

We will be hosting group golf lessons and all events will be approved on an individual basis. Please visit movelearnplay.edmonton.ca to sign up.

Can I book a tournament?

We will be booking smaller group golf outings which will be approved on an individual case by case basis.

What are some of the operational changes you have made due to COVID-19?
  • Ball washers and bunker rakes will not be available at this time.
  • Modified cups will be in use. Please refrain from touching the flagstick, which is to remain in at all times.
  • Groups will not be permitted to play through. Please keep pace at all times to ensure maximum enjoyment of those behind you.
  • In the case of frost delays or inclement weather, golfers are to return to their vehicles or physically distanced in the clubhouse.
  • No cash sales will be permitted. All transactions must be done with debit or credit card.
  • Please do not arrive at the golf course earlier than 15 minutes prior to your tee time, unless you are accessing the driving range or visiting the restaurant.  Avoid congregating in the parking lot (physical distancing).
Do I have to wear a face mask?

Wearing a mask or face covering is mandatory in all indoor public places. At City golf courses, this includes pro shops and clubhouses. For more information, please visit edmonton.ca/COVID19.

Are you enforcing physical distancing?

Physical distancing is required at all times and will be strictly enforced (minimum of 2 metres). This includes no handshaking and no hugging. In order to maintain physical distancing, please consider continuous putting, 2 feet gimmes, and only 1 player on the tee box at a time. Failure to observe physical distancing risks closure of the facility. If you are in violation, you will be asked to leave and may be suspended from future play. 

Can I rent a cart?

Power carts are single rider only unless you have proof of the same physical address. Please note that all power carts are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized after each use. Power carts may not be available at all times so be prepared to walk during your round. 

What happens if I become ill during my round of golf?

If you become ill while at the course, please :

  • Discontinue your round
  • Leave the facility immediately
  • Complete the online COVID-19 self-assessment

After returning to your vehicle, please call the golf course to explain that you became ill onsite and inform them of which facilities you used and objects you touched so a thorough sanitization can be completed.
